If you are a TELUS, Koodo mobile or Public Mobile customer there is a very good chance that the TELUS promotional department will call you multiple times per month from 888-811-2323. These are calls from TELUS employees attempting to sell you additional TELUS services like Internet, TV, Home Phone or cell/mobile phones. From my experience asking them to remove you from their marketing list is ignored. They might tell you they’ve done so but the calls keep coming.
How do you stop calls from 888-811-2323?
The best way to stop receiving calls from TELUS at 888-811-2323 is to send an email to privacy@telus.com asking to be removed. Here is a quick template that worked for me.
Subject:
Remove from Marketing Communications
Body of Email:
Hello TELUS,
I am requesting to be removed from all marketing communications.
Phone Number: [Your Phone Number]
Email address: [Your Email Address]
I have filed a complaint with the National DNC list in an attempt for you to take action. Requests to those who phone me on your behalf to have me removed are ignored. Please confirm I have been removed from all TELUS marketing communications.
But wait, there is a catch!
TELUS will remove you from their marketing list but only for 2 years. Add a calendar reminder once you hear back from TELUS that you have been removed to re-request to be removed.
Are you with Bell or Rogers and getting the same spam calls?
If you are a Rogers, Fido or Chatr customer ask to be removed here: https://www.rogers.com/consumer/unsubscribe/
If you are a Bell, Virgin Plus or Lucky Mobile customer ask to be removed here: https://www.bell.ca/email-updates
Aren’t calls from +1-888-811-2323 a call from a spoofed caller id?
From my experience, all the calls I received from +1-888-811-2323 were from a sales center operated by TELUS. They didn’t seem to know much about me other than my number and the fact that I was a “TELUS” customer. My best guess is that TELUS provides my contact information to a third party who operates these calling centers overseas. I can’t imagine they convert too many calls and don’t understand why you would continue to operate this way.
